Productivity

As recently discussed in previous newsletters, the focus has been on reducing the time spent on the day-to-day tasks that clutter my day.

This approach has reduced my working day for repetitive tasks from 5 to 6 hours to 2 hours in the morning, leaving more time to think and develop strategies for the future, as well as releasing time to network and help others with social media and content marketing products and services.

Software Applications

Here's an application in my toolkit focusing on computer search productivity and efficiency improvements.

Everything

File search on Windows

Ever lost the will to live while waiting for Windows to search for a file or folder?

Everything is utility software that can help you find any file or folder stored on your Windows device.

The difference between Everything and the Windows default search is that Everything indexes your entire system and holds that information in memory.

This results in a near-instant search.

Pros

  • Free to use

  • Works very fast

  • Searches data efficiently

Cons

  • Old school look

  • Uses some storage

  • It has been known to crash occasionally. So far, after over a year of use, it's not happened to me
